Jackboots in the Cafeteria

Chicken nuggets are more healthy than a turkey sandwich! WHAT?!?

Well, it seems as if the government jackboots aren’t just for the IRS and TSA anymore.  Now this isn’t a Federal problem (but give it time) but it is disgusting and disturbing all the same.  Even though I don’t agree that the lunch the mom sent with the child is all that healthy, since it contained wheat, apple juice and potatoes fried in PUFA’s, it is ultimately no business of mine.  And it really isn’t the business of the food fascist hanging out in the cafeteria.  And even though I don’t like what her mom sent her, it was a million times better than what the cafeteria offered. Have you ever looked a the compressed chicken parts, breaded and fried in PUFA’s that the school offers?  YUCK!

You have to pay attention to this kind of thing, because it isn’t that far off in other parts of the country.  The local schools rely on federal subsidies to provide cheap crappy lunch. Because they take that money, they have to live up to certain rules.  It is not a far stretch to think that the feds will one day require monitoring of the food students bring in their lunch boxes.  It is a violation of basic rights to dictate to me what I feed my child.  As long as I don’t feed them rat-poison, it is none of the government’s business – federal, state or local.  And for people like me, who live a healthy primal life without grains, sugar and legumes and wish our kids to do the same, we will definitely be in violation of their silly standards, albeit far healthier than those who follow those same standards.

About wahoowa96

I am a low carb fan and have been for over a year now. Before I discovered this way of eating, I was pre-diabetic, had off the charts cholesterol and high blood pressure. With no meds, all of that stuff is normal now. Thank you so much, Dr. Atkins, for showing me such a wonderful way of eating that is delicious, satisfying and healthy! Even if you don't struggle with your weight, I highly recommend you taking on the low carb way of life. The health benefits to doing so are legion! I have a beautiful wife and two of the most adorable children a dad could ask for.
