Conventional Wisdom Wrong Again….Shocking!

Well, another piece of conventional wisdom bites the dust…thank God.  Here is an article showing how the common belief that salt is bad is wrong.

Not only are there only small improvements in blood pressure (1% for healthy people and 3% for unhealthy), it seems that decreasing salt intakes actually has detrimental effects on triglycerides in your blood.  So it turns out that decreasing salt intake, per government and “expert” recommendations actually INCREASES your chances of meeting your maker.

The study’s authors didn’t know why there is an inverse relationship between salt reduction and blood lipids, but I have a theory.  You have to replace salt with something.  If you didn’t, you wouldn’t eat the bland food before you.  So instead of salt, people who reduce sodium eat more sugar, which is converted to triglycerides by your liver.  Now there’s some food for thought.
